nosos), fr. "ra`chis, -ios, the
spine.] [Written also rhachitis.] 1.
(Med.) Literally, inflammation of the spine, but commonly
applied to the rickets. See Rickets.
2. (Bot.) A disease which produces
abortion in the fruit or seeds. Henslow.
