province; constituting a province; as, a provincial government;
a provincial dialect.
2. Exhibiting the ways or manners of a
province; characteristic of the inhabitants of a province; not
cosmopolitan; countrified; not polished; rude; hence, narrow;
illiberal. "Provincial airs and graces."
