patriarcal.] 1. Of or pertaining to a
patriarch or to patriarchs; possessed by, or subject to, patriarchs;
as, patriarchal authority or jurisdiction; a patriarchal
see; a patriarchal church.
2. Characteristic of a patriarch;
venerable.
