name, fr. Gr. &?; to command.] (Zoöl.) An East
Indian long-tailed bearded monkey (Semnopithecus entellus)
regarded as sacred by the natives. It is remarkable for the caplike
arrangement of the hair on the head. Called also hoonoomaun
and hungoor.
