Lamaism, Buddhism as professed in Thibet and Mongolia, or the

incarnated in the
Sangha (
q. v.) or priesthood, and especially
in the Grand Lama or Dalai Lama, the chief priest; a kind of
hero-worship, or at all events saint-worship; long since sunk into mere
idolatry (
q. v.).
