A plant of the genus Heliotropium; heliotrope; -- so named
because its flowers are supposed to turn toward the sun.
(b) The sunflower. (c) A
kind of spurge (Euphorbia Helioscopia). (d)
The euphorbiaceous plant Chrozophora tinctoria.
2. (Chem.) (a) Litmus.
