Tit"ling (?), n. [Icel. titlingr a tit
sparrow. See Tit a small bird.] 1.
(Zoöl.) (a) The hedge sparrow; -- called
also titlene. Its nest often chosen by the cuckoo as a place for
depositing its own eggs.

egg, and bringeth up the chick of another bird.
