cheese + &?;. See Toxic.] (Physiol. Chem.) A ptomaine
discovered by Vaughan in putrid cheese and other dairy products, and
producing symptoms similar to cholera infantum. Chemically, it appears to
be related to, or identical with, diazobenzol.
