Syc"o*phan*cy (?), n. [Cf. L. sycophantia deceit, Gr. &?; false accusation.] The character or characteristic of a sycophant. Hence: -

(a) False accusation; calumniation; talebearing. [Obs.] Bp. Hall.

(b) Obsequious flattery; servility.
