Sam"bur (?), n. [Hind.
sāmbar, sābar.] (Zoöl.) An
East Indian deer (Rusa Aristotelis) having a mane on its neck.
Its antlers have but three prongs. Called also gerow. The name
is applied to other species of the genus Rusa, as the Bornean
sambur (R. equina).
