Quaffing.] [For quach, fr. Gael. & Ir. cuach a
drinking cup; cf. L. caucus a drinking vessel. Cf.
Quaigh.] To drink with relish; to drink copiously of; to
swallow in large draughts. "Quaffed off the muscadel."
