Proglottides (#). [NL. fr. Gr. &?; the tip of the
tongue; &?; forward + &?; the tongue.] (Zoöl) One of
the free, or nearly free, segments of a tapeworm. It contains both
male and female reproductive organs, and is capable of a brief
independent existence.
