Definition of Pogram
- The persecution of a particular group, usually on the basis of their religion or ethnic origin. Pogroms took place in czarist Russia, during a period known as the Russification, which was proposed by Alexander III in order to protect the autocracy and build the feeling of nationalism among the citizens.
