head.
2. (Zoöl.) Having a crest covering
the pileus, or whole top of the head.
Pileated woodpecker (Zoöl.), a
large American woodpecker (Ceophloeus pileatus). It is black,
with a bright red pointed crest. Called also logcock, and
woodcock.
