Phos"phor-bronze` (?), n.
[Phosphor + bronze.] (Metal.) A variety of
bronze possessing great hardness, elasticity, and toughness, obtained
by melting copper with tin phosphide. It contains one or two per cent
of phosphorus and from five to fifteen per cent of tin.
