Expressing or showing anger; passionate. [Obs.]
2. Affecting or moving the tender emotions,
esp. pity or grief; full of pathos; as, a pathetic song or
story. "Pathetic action." Macaulay.

Pathetic muscle (Anat.), the superior
oblique muscle of the eye. -- Pathetic nerve
