Gr. 'odoy`s, 'odo`ntos, a tooth + &?; a
furrow.] (Paleon.) An extinct order of ostrichlike
aquatic birds having teeth, which are set in a groove in the jaw. It
includes Hesperornis, and allied genera. See
Hesperornis. [Written also Odontholcae, and
Odontoholcae.]
