||Mer`o*stom"a*ta (?), n. pl. [NL., fr.
Gr. &?; thigh + &?;, -&?;, mouth.] (Zoöl.) A class
of Arthropoda, allied to the Crustacea. It includes the trilobites,
Eurypteroidea, and Limuloidea. All are extinct except the horseshoe
crabs of the last group. See Limulus.
