Jealousies (#). [ F. jalousie. See
Jealous, and cf. Jalousie.] The quality of being
jealous; earnest concern or solicitude; painful apprehension of
rivalship in cases nearly affecting one's happiness; painful
suspicion of the faithfulness of husband, wife, or lover.
