not + compatible: cf. F. incompatible.] [It was
formerly sometimes written incompetible.]
1. Not compatible; so differing as to be
incapable of harmonious combination or coexistence; inconsistent in
thought or being; irreconcilably disagreeing; as, persons of
incompatible tempers; incompatible colors, desires,
ambition.
