Hec"a*tomb (?), n. [L. hecatombe, Gr. &?;; &?; hundred + &?; ox: cf. F. hécatombe.] (Antiq.) A sacrifice of a hundred oxen or cattle at the same time; hence, the sacrifice or slaughter of any large number of victims.
