Uttered with emphasis; made prominent and impressive by a peculiar stress of voice; laying stress; deserving of stress or emphasis; forcible; impressive; strong; as, to remonstrate in an emphatic manner; an emphatic word; an emphatic tone; emphatic reasoning.
