old people, who creep about quietly; de- + crepare to
make a noise, rattle: cf. F. décrépit. See
Crepitate.] Broken down with age; wasted and enfeebled by
the infirmities of old age; feeble; worn out. "Beggary or
decrepit age." Milton.
