Definition of Coffir

Cof"fer (?; 115), n. [OF. cofre, F. coffre, L. cophinus basket, fr. Gr. &?;. Cf. Coffin, n.] 1. A casket, chest, or trunk; especially, one used for keeping money or other valuables. Chaucer.
