Definition of Cockblack

(slang) A companion who deliberately or inadvertently prevents an aspiring male from having sex with their companion.

(slang) An action that prevents a man's pre meditated course of action of romancing a woman. Although it's definition implies sexual behaviour, it is used by various people to portray a man as having sexual intentions which were denied. Some one who acts as the "cockblock" is a "cockblocker", although no actual penis stopping may have taken place. This is because the word has evolved to fit many situations, sexual and non-sexual.
I knew my roommate wanted to hook up with this dude, but I knew who he was and I had to cockblock him.
