Astonishing.] [OE. astonien, astunian, astonen,
OF. estoner, F. étonner, fr. L. ex out +
tonare to thunder, but perhaps influenced by E. stun. See
Thunder, Astound, Astony.] 1. To
stun; to render senseless, as by a blow. [Obs.]
