||An*ach"a*ris (&?;), n. [NL., fr. Gr. &?; up
+ &?; grace.] (Bot.) A fresh-water weed of the frog's-bit
family (Hydrocharidaceæ), native to America. Transferred to
England it became an obstruction to navigation. Called also
waterweed and water thyme.
