producing musk. See Musk.] (Bot.) An evergreen shrub
(Hibiscus -- formerly Abelmoschus -- moschatus), of the East
and West Indies and Northern Africa, whose musky seeds are used in
perfumery and to flavor coffee; -- sometimes called musk
mallow.
